Air and noise pollution check at Sultan Hasanuddin eco-airport

A study was conducted to analyse the level of air and noise pollution at Sultan Hasanuddin eco-airport, Indonesia. Sound level meter was used to analyse noise pollution and the indicators of air pollution instrument was used to measure the level of air pollution caused by Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and Carbon monoxide (CO). The study reported that noise level was 72.53 dBA, and measured air pollution levels were SO2-13.748 μg/Nm3, NO2-18.650 μg/Nm3 and CO-25.942 μg/Nm3. However, improvement in the noise and air quality is needed for the Sultan Hasanuddin airport to be included among the eco-airports of the globe.

Groundwater forms one of the primary resources for development activities. In recent times, there has been tremendous demand for fresh water due to population growth and intensive agricultural activities. Groundwater quality is the physical and chemical characterization of groundwater, which measures its suitability for human and animal consumption, irrigation and other aims. Irrigation water quality is generally judged by some determining factors such as sodium absorption ratio (SAR), soluble sodium percentage (SSP), residual sodium carbonate (RSC), and electrical conductance (EC) (Richards, 1954). In the study used SAR for determination of waterground quality. Read more................
