Delta front
shorelines are active geomorphic features that are always evolving under both
internal and external driving forces. Delta regions support large populations of over 500 million people globally, with particular concentrations in Asia and
Africa.
Deltas, which are highly vulnerable coastal environment due to their
physical and socio-economic characteristics, are often threatened by the
dynamics in the shoreline position. The changes in the shoreline positions have
in most cases resulted in coastal erosion and flooding that increase the
vulnerability of the low elevation deltas under changing climatic conditions. Read more>>>>>>>>>>
